About TRZ-2

Tirzepatide is a high-purity lyophilized peptide researched for its unique ability to act as a dual agonist for both the Glucose-dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide (GIP) and Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptors. Originally designed to investigate synergistic metabolic pathways, it has become a primary subject of study in fat metabolism and weight management research. This TRZ-2 product provides a consistent and stable reagent for academic and industrial research into molecular signaling, peptide behavior, and tissue remodeling. It is intended strictly for laboratory and research development purposes only.

Mechanism of Action

The mechanism involves the simultaneous activation of GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Activation of the GLP-1 receptor slows gastric emptying and reduces food intake signaling in the brain, while GIP receptor activation is studied for its role in improving insulin sensitivity and regulating lipid metabolism in adipose tissue. Together, these dual pathways investigate a more comprehensive approach to glucose homeostasis and energy expenditure than single-receptor agonists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Tirzepatide unique in metabolic research?

It is a first-in-class “twincretin,” meaning it targets both the Glucose-dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide (GIP) and Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptors.

Can this be used for veterinary diagnostic purposes?

No, it is intended strictly for in-vitro and approved in-vivo animal research by qualified professionals and not for human or veterinary medical use.
